Welcome tourists...
Well, it was good to see that the government has recommended to remove the differential tariff for the tourist who used to visit India. It used to be one of the most stark case of discrimination for the foreigners who visited Inida. Why did they had to do it? Was India in such a bad situation that it needed to charge the guests more.
The most glarin example of this was at India's fabled historical monument including the biggest draw, the Taj Mahal – the majestic 17th century marble mausoleum that is one of the world's greatest monuments to love. While foreigners pay $21 (euro18) to enter, Indian nationals pay only 33 cents (28 euro cents).
Here we have differenciating fees for health care, some forms, fees for seminars, trade fairs etc... but now the things have started changing. This small step will act as a pull for tourists. NRI's are being welcomed. Foreigners are now welcomed. They are being treated at par with Indians, neither low nor high. This shows that we are ,albeit late, but now changing for good. We are now facing the world standing straight and look into its face. Thus, even a small step count for the country.
